MY PRIORITIES:
Fiscal Responsibility: I’m committed to responsible, sustainable financial stewardship. That means protecting the General Fund, ending interfund borrowing, and ensuring each fund supports the services it was intended to provide. Long-term planning, not short-term fixes, is the only path to a financially healthy city.
Estoy comprometida con una gestión financiera responsable y sostenible. Eso significa proteger el Fondo General, poner fin a los préstamos entre fondos y garantizar que cada fondo financie los servicios para los que fue creado. La planificación a largo plazo, y no las soluciones a corto plazo, es el único camino hacia una ciudad financieramente saludable.
Community: A strong community is measured by how well it serves people of every generation. I will continue advocating for affordable housing, preserving free community trolley service, and creating opportunities for older adults to remain active, connected, and engaged in civic life.
Una comunidad fuerte se mide por la manera en que sirve a las personas de todas las generaciones. Continuaré abogando por viviendas asequibles, preservando el servicio gratuito del tranvía comunitario y creando oportunidades para que los adultos mayores se mantengan activos, conectados y participen en la vida cívica.
Inclusion & Engagement: I will keep listening to residents, working together, and supporting the library, museum, parks, Community Fiesta, Indy Days, and other institutions that define our city. My vision is a financially responsible city that fosters inclusion, engagement, and opportunity for every Independence resident.

Raised in a military family, public service was a way of life. Living overseas and across the United States taught me adaptability, respect for different perspectives, and the importance of strong communities and the institutions that support them.
Criada en una familia militar, el servicio público era una forma de vida. Vivir en Alemania, Tailandia, Italia y en distintas partes de los Estados Unidos me enseñó a adaptarme, a respetar diferentes perspectivas y a valorar la importancia de comunidades sólidas y de las instituciones que las apoyan.
For an almost three-decade career, I have served as a Department of Defense civilian and Oregon state employee, supporting worldwide U.S. military operations, establishing international agreements, and serving Oregonians in need. Along the way, I learned to navigate change, solve problems, and strengthen organizations entrusted to serve others.
Durante una carrera de casi tres décadas, he trabajado en el Departamento de Defensa y en el gobierno del estado de Oregón, apoyando operaciones militares estadounidenses en todo el mundo, estableciendo acuerdos internacionales y sirviendo a los habitantes de Oregón que más lo necesitan. A lo largo de mi carrera, aprendí a adaptarme al cambio, resolver problemas y fortalecer las organizaciones encargadas de servir a los demás.
My career has taught me that leadership is not about maintaining the status quo. It’s about solving problems, strengthening organizations, and preparing them for the future. That’s the same philosophy I bring to the Independence City Council.
Mi carrera me ha enseñado que el liderazgo no consiste en mantener el statu quo. Se trata de resolver problemas, fortalecer las organizaciones y prepararlas para el futuro. Esa es la misma filosofía que llevo al Concejo Municipal de Independence.
